On February 21, 2026, the “War Up Close” exhibition was presented at the historic Old Courthouse in Kamloops, British Columbia. The event took place on the eve of the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
We sincerely thank everyone who invited us, supported the exhibition, and helped make the event possible. This event came together with remarkable speed, and that was only possible because of an extraordinary group of people.
Special thanks to representatives of the Ukrainian Canadian Congress Thompson Okanagan Branch in Kamloops, City of Kamloops – Municipal Government for providing the opportunity to host the exhibition at the historic Old Courthouse in the heart of the city, Father Andrzej from the Ukrainian Catholic Church, Dr. Oleksandr (Sasha) Kondrashov, and all the volunteers.
Thanks to these collective efforts, residents of Kamloops, local government representatives, and members of the media had the opportunity to see Ukraine through the eyes of those experiencing the war, experience its reality through VR technology, explore children’s artwork created during the war as part of the “Sunflower Dreams” project, and learn about “Sustain Ukraine,” a volunteer initiative supporting the Ukrainian military.
We are grateful to the people of Kamloops for their hospitality, support for Ukraine, and compassion. Together, we continue to share the truth about the war and remind the world of the importance of standing with Ukraine.
